The Andover Nursing Home, in Hampshire was judged to be outstanding by the Care Quality Commission following an unannounced visit 8 April 2019.
The Andover Nursing Home provides personal and nursing care for up to 87 people.
Andoverwas rated outstanding in the caring, responsive and well-led categories and good for the safe and effective elements.
Throughout the CQC report staff talked with passion about their role and were proud of making a difference to people's lives. Staff across the board were motivated to ensure people had the best day possible and understood how their role and interactions contributed to resident’s wellbeing.
Inspectors noticed that there was no sense of staff working in a task orientated manner, instead, they were focused on meeting people's needs in an individual manner, listening attentively to what each person had to say, and not leaving the person until they had finished speaking.
People experienced an exceptionally well-led service and the registered manager, and her leadership team promoted the delivery.
Several relatives described the service as outstanding.
One relative said, "Nothing is too much trouble, all the staff are very good, I would quite comfortably live here. It's like a five-star hotel, the standard is so high and that is why it is rated as outstanding, they cater for all needs and this makes it outstanding.”
Proprietor and managing director Dr Ramneek Grewal said, “I feel incredibly proud of matron and her team of staff for this achievement.”
“Louise has created a partnership between residents, staff and their families and it is only with this that we able to create a warm and homely environment for our residents and staff.”
“We are excited about the progress we have made this past year and continue to strive for even higher standards in the years ahead.”
